If Saab only hadn't come up with the BRILLIANT idea to sell the complete ABS hydraulic unit together with ABS module for $2700.00 but done like all the other car makers selling just the ABS module, it would have been less of a problem. The others range from about $500.00 to 1300.00 for brand new ones.
Or if ALL car manufacturers would have demanded that the makers of these ABS modules had done the job correct from the beginning, it would also have been less of a problem.
It is also very surprising that no recalls have been demanded since just about all car makes using ABS system have similar problems. Domestic cars using Kelsey-Hayes systems have problems with the ABS pump staying on all the time burning up the pump if you don't remove the fuse or get the module replaced. Volvo with ATE system has been plagued since 1996 with different types of ABS malfunctions and we already know about Saab's issues with Bosch system.
