First make sure that that's what happened that a pulley bearing let go.

Second, it is a very little chance that they would pick up the tab since Saab only tells them to replace the belt for free.
Even though most of us know that it is ludicrous to not replace the pulleys, the Saab dealer doesn't have the authority to recommend replacement of said parts om a regular basis since that might rattle some cages and people would start to demand that it gets done for free too.

If the owner has used the dealer for ALL service and repairs for a long time, they might offer some help toward the repair but it is usually still cheaper to have a good independent do the repairs instead.

If it can be proven that the belt installation was not done properly or things not tighten down and bolts came loose, she might have a case but if so, it is very important to have a knowledgeable person look at it first before taking it back to the dealer and document everything without disturbing anything.
