The motor and ACC system works by sensing the amount of power (amperage) to run the motor. When the motor and arm reach a physical stop, the ACC system senses that and the motor will calibrate itself to stop there.
The problem is that the plastic pieces all around is not good enough so when the ACC system run another calibration (which it does now and then), it will tug on those arms and finally break them.
It is a couple of software updates for the ACC system that deals with both the calibration and stepping motor issues. You just need to find a shop with the Tech 2 and full SPS service function to update the ACC.
