for your 2001 9-5:
The sequence and amount to be drained is as follows. Before starting, suction out all of the fluid possible from the reservoir. Then, fill the reservoir with new fluid.
Next do the following:
Left-front 100 ml
Right-rear 50 ml
Right-front 100 ml
Left-rear 50 ml
As you're doing this add fluid to the reservoir to ensure that the system always has fluid in it. When you're finished, fill the reservoir to the level it was at when you started. If your pads are worn at all this level will be below the max; in any case the reservoir should be between the min and max levels depending upon brake pad wear.
