I have a 2000 95 SE V6. I had a DIC changed, but not before it flooded the cat. conv. $1200 and a new DIC I was good to go. Bought an after market cat, went bad again, had it replaced under warranty. While this going on, the car sputtered, blew out black smoke etc. That was around 15k miles ago. Yesterday driving home, CEL on. Took it to Advance and the code read P0420. The tech at Advance explained it could either be the cat or an O2 sensor. I would need a "sniff(?)" test on my emissions to determine if the cat was bad. I called the local Saab dealer and he confirmed, but would run a test on the O2 sensor first. The car is not sputtering and driving fine. Tonight while driving around, the CEL turned off. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.
