No. Your car still has to fall within the vin range of the recall. Those numbers are just the cutoff of the new and improved IDM. Those are the numbers we look at when we do the recall to determine if it needs a new IDM or not.
Cars affected
Saab 9-5 M00-02 with engine alternative
B205/B235
Saab 9-5 M01-03 with engine alternative B308 up to
and including chassis number 33027727
Saab 9-3 (9400) M00 - 02 with engine alternative
B205/B235
I have no idea why the earlier cars were not included. Maybe the differant software versions used on the early T7 were easier on the IDM drivers that are causing the failures.
There is also software updates for T7 that is suppost to help prevent the IDM drivers from failing, but for some reason they did not make that a part of the recall.
