Well the tire PSI recommendations at least sound consistent for the last couple years. If it was a misprint mistake hopefully they would have caught it by now. The door jam on my '06 says 35 (with qualification to see manual for more information). Manual for standard size all-season says 35 psi for all loads up to 120 mph. For 120+ mph it says 41. I assume they just base it on max load to cover the bases and call it done; not sure what that would mean for optimal pressures for lower loads but 35 psi doesn't seems at all unreasonable for this size tire and light loads.
Interesting though for the same size winter tires and tire load rating as the standard all-seasons (but Q rated) it says 35 psi for 1-3 persons and 38 psi for 4-5 persons. This might b/c of the generally softer sidewalls of winter tires and reduced ability to dissipate heat.
I have consistently run the all-seasons at 35-36 but generally run on the light load end of the scale.
Actually the more I look at this stuff the stranger it seems!
For the alternative size 215/55 R 16 all-seasons it says 36 psi front and 33 psi rear (for up to 100 mph). But for the same size winter tires it lists front/rear pressures the same (35 front and rear for 1-3 persons and 38 front and rear for 4-5 persons). Only the 215/55 R16 all-seasons list a different front/rear pressure split. This just seems really odd.
