I finally fixed my left blend door last month on a warmer Sunday. The ACC hasd been non-funtional since March this year - my door stop arm cracked at the edge in the classic failure. I bought the aluminum replacement door stop arm from TheSaabSite.com. If I ever do this again, it will be with the plastic part which is stronger than the original. The aluminum replacement will never break, but it's hard to get onto the shaft easily. I had been unable to get it reassembled right in March due to accidentally merring the soft BRASS shaft of the stepper motor. I put up with the system not being properly functional during the summer, but with the cold weather coming again, I was more motivated to find the problem as I like to have defrosted windows. A small file polished up the nicks in the shaft and it reassembled, but I had to take off the motor AGAIN and take it apart to change the angle of the shaft since the recalibrate would not reset the system. Once the motor was set to about 2:00 position per some article I saw on the WWW, the recalibrate (Auto-OFF) reset the motor and it's working again. Working under the dashboard on your back is not fun and it took a few different tool combinations to reach the non-visible screws. I could probably do it again in about 90 minutes or less, but it ought not break again.
There are a couple of sites with directions for fixing the blend door (one is [http://www.thesaabsite.com]). (Just google search on saab blend door repair.)
I think the theft alarm is the next module to be rebuilt soon with new batteries as I get occasional Service Theft Alarm messages out of the blue when driving - the car is 8 years old.
I also have to work on the SID as each day is a crapshoot as to how many of the LED segments will light. Sometimes all and sometimes only 70% or so.
