Just have the siren disabled.... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Tue, 18 Nov 2008 15:51:10 In Reply to: Theft Alarm Removal, Alex, Tue, 18 Nov 2008 13:43:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Pay a Dealer or Saab Indy to disable your siren using their Tech-II device. It may even cost less than a set of replacement batteries.
I followed the battery replacement route. The first set of replacements cost over $25 with shipping and lasted 16 months. The second set cost even more when I installed the remote battery pack, they lasted less than a week.
I paid a Dealer $25 to disable the siren, and no problems or random alarms since. I still have a working alarm system and audible alerts when locking/unlocking doors, but now the sound is brief honks of the horn rather than chirps of the siren. Just like the 2004 and newer models!
Don't waste your time or money chasing the siren battery phantom. Just friendly advice from someone who has been there and done that.
