I have found 2 ways that you can do this, one of which is already posted. If you can't break the Cat free, then you can use a 1/2" drill bit, and go through the frame directly next to the green brake line. There is a plastic tip which can be used as a guide. It does not compromise the frame, but I suggest putting primer on it afterwards. This gives you a straight shot to put a 3/8ths extension directly on the 8mm hex. Removing it can be done with ease by seperating the winding half, and voltage regulator half. 4 Phillips head screws hold them together, and twist a flat screwdriver into the casing to seperate them. This is less of a hassle, but it worked for me. I have had 4 900's, and had to do this twice. Just remember when you put the new alternator in not to crush the white teflon bushing while re-assembling the new halves. It is a LOT easier than dropping the CAT, and removing the tensioners. It takes about 2 hours off of the labor time, but I would not suggest it for a paying customer, as they may not want a new hole in their car..
