Same here... 36 mpg at 300 miles of 75mph freeway driving in 04 9-5 Aero. Honda Fit gas mileage on the road. Around town only delivers 20-21 though. Auto must have a tall fifth gear. My 00 9-3 SE 5 spd only gets about 30 mpg on the same stretch of highway and down to about 28 at 80 mph. But it does a bit better around town, maybe 23 mpg. My guess is the manual trans and the lighter weight of the 9-3 helps it around town and better aerodynamics and taller fifth gear helps the 9-5 Aero on the highway.
B. Millar - Glad you got rid of the v-6 or not? Sounds like you got a great deal on this one. We got ours CP0 a year ago and have had some trouble with a throttle body replacement, broken cupholder, and failed DI cartridge, along with some wiring harnesses that had to be resoldered. Also heat is on in backseat ducts when AC is being used. They haven't got that one fixed yet. My old black 9-3 at 136k has been almost bulletproof in comparison.
