Last wednesday driving home from work, the car just quit while idling in front of the traffic lights. Just frowned, restarted and drove home. Yesterday however, the car quit at speed. I was able to steer to the side, it didn't restart immediately, but after 5 minutes or so it did so I drove on. After this had happened for another 2 times I decided to call it a day and had the car flatbedded off to my mechanic.
I did not get any CEL. But last summer one of the IDMs quit and that didn't trigger any CEL either. So I just hope it has stored a fault code, but I won't hold my breath. I put my money on CPS failure.
Lately my car just felt like it was lacking some zip and sometimes felt just a bit coarse, especially when fully warmed up. Hope a new CPS will cure this as well.
Also, lately the car gives a noticable shudder when going on and off the gas at speed. Shifting is a bit slammy. Even though it coincides with abovementioned symptoms, it sounds more like motor mounts to me...
Any other ideas or similar experience?
