missed the starter was out Posted by Peter [Email] (#2804) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Peter) on Sun, 24 Feb 2002 20:16:59 In Reply to: DI cassette?, Peter [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 24 Feb 2002 14:56:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Seth is correct, with a bad DI cassette, the starter will still turn. On my DI unit, after it failed, one (or more) of the internal oil jackets broke and when I turned the ignition to shift into neutral for the flatbed, smoke started to spew from the engine. Frustrating experience but relatively easy to fix.
Now if I can only get one of the pulleys fixed... Had one seize up last month. Replaced it and the belt that broke. Now the new pulley hub is loose and making noise.
Still a great car and lots cheaper to fix then replace.
