I agree with you but I sat there with a rep and engineer going on and on about how my car is old so what do I expect. I said if it isn't excluded it is covered and they said they are not doing any more on those issues. Hopefully the courts will help. If not, at least I tried.
Saab customer serious is useless. Dealer says its normal and then they won't do anything. They have no authority and even less common sense. The entire warranty process is arbitrarily administered. Here is an example. IIRC, I had to make 4 trips to three dealers to get hatch dampers the first time around. The current dealer and the rep and the engineer denied it a few times without looking at the car for the second time around. Today, I get the warranty admin instead of the service writer because of the holiday and she says she'll order them without even looking at the car. Then I ask about hood dampers and explain there is a 9-3 in the showroom and that hood pops right up and mine has to be lifted with excessive force. She says they never change hood dampers and it must be that my oil change person isn't lubing them. I come home and lube them and work in the lube. Initially, they almost drop on their own. Now they hold but require the same great force to lift the hood. Mike Lynch has posted about how wagon owners should all request hood and hatch dampers before the CPO ends.
