Have you tried rocking the car?

All that holds a tranny in park is sort of like a big pin or key that goes into a hole or slot. The pin/key can get jammed if it is worn, the car is on a slope, or the tranny was put in park when the car was moving slightly.
Have someone rock the car while you try to shift from park to reverse or drive. This relieves the tension on the pin/key and you can break it loose.
