After putting 201,000 memorable miles my ’99 9-5 Linear sedan I have a decision to make……… should I donate her or bother to put it on craiglist? Either way I am looking at $500. I must say she is in poor condition, with the last 3 years of its life being driven into Jersey City, NJ everyday, for those of you who don’t know what that’s like its like driving into hell. Necessary repairs include, engine/trans mounts, cat back muffler, brakes all around, new turbo. Its has the original suspension and turbo, steel rims with old snow tires and a split in the rear bumper where the muffler decided to divorce itself from the car in Jersey City and its has a few dings dents and scratches. I have been good to the engine with oil changes every 3000 to 4500 miles and trans fluid every 30k miles. I have been driving it, out of inspection I may add, every day up until 2 week ago and it is still a pleasure to drive. I have had the car since new and I must be honest I drove it hard and treated it like a red headed step child every mile and it took it like a Champ. Its been blowing smoke on start up for 80k miles and it needs about a ½ qt low when I hit 3000 miles and has a coolant leak(not the water pump it was replaced 20k ago). As I a writing this I realize, that I should just donate it and let her go.....What do you think??
When I get the time I am going to list every repair and prices that have been done.
BTW…its been replaced by a ’05 Aero sedan with 44k on the clock….this car will not e seeing Jersey City.
