Hi All. Car is2002 Aero, with 85000 miles.
Boost indicator has always been able to reach into the red zone easily. For the past week, it takes more aggressive driving to bring there; frequently it just stays below the red area with a noticeable feeling of slight power loss. Gas has always been 93 octane (shell). Car runs otherwise perfect. Mobil 1 0W-40 every 2500-3000 miles. Never had CEL.
My questions:
1. I suspect gas quality (regular instead of the indicated 93 octane). Is it possible that some gas stations cheat like this? I am in Massachusetts.
2. Can spark plugs do that? They are about 30000 miles old and I am planning to replace them.
3. What are other possible causes?
