2004 9-5 Aero - Cold Start Issue + Brake click/clunk Posted by Randy Thatcher [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
I have a 2004 9-5 Aero 5-speed I bought 11 months ago with CPO warranty 'til the end of this year. I bought it at 35k and I just had the 60k service done a little over a week ago. I've put on 900 miles since the service. All dealer service. In addition to the standard 60k they adjusted the loose parking brake.
Problem 1 - the past 3 days the car is not starting right up on the first turn of the key on the first start of the day. It's been about 40 degrees (cold by SF Bay Area standards). I make a 5 minute drive to drop my son at daycare, then fire it up to go to work. That warmed up start is no problem. All other starts through the day are no problem. Any ideas on what this might be?
Problem 2 - there is a sound in the front end that I hear at slow speeds when I'm braking. It's not every time, and it's not terribly loud. I hear it and (maybe this is in my head) feel it in the pedal. It's like a click. If i had to guess it would be like a loose brake component, bushing issue, or something. Any ideas of where to start?
