In addition to boost......... Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: 04Arc vs 04Aero - Big Engine Difference or Just Boost?, Joe03SS, Wed, 1 Apr 2009 13:57:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Boost is only part of the story that accounts for the price difference you're seeing. Other factors.......(ARC is listed first)....
1. Wheels: 16" versus 17"
2. Tires: 215X55X16 versus 225X45X17
3. Seats: Aero seats are a definite step up. When I bought my 2007 9-5 AERO the better seats were THE reason
4. Springs and struts/shocks: AERO is lower and firmer
5. Anti sway bars front and rear are thicker for the AERO
I've had 3 AERO's (1 9000 and 2 9-5's). They are habit forming.
One minor factor regarding the AERO: you will need to get snow tires (215X55X16) and wheels for the winter. The low aspect ratio and the wide profile stock tires perform well during the summer; they do not work in the snow and the lower aspect ratio (45 versus 55) of the tires will result in a greater tendency to bend rims in the winter due to pot holes. Now, if you happen to live in the south, these points are moot.
