rain sensor wipers on an '06 -- need collective wisdom

Just returned from my 3rd visit in as many weeks to the Ann Arbor dealer to have them try to fix the rain/moisture-sensitive wiper setting on the '06. It has not worked properly since I bought the car ca. 3 mos ago. I have observed that I can get the wipers to sweep if (a)I move the control stalk to the "up" position. It will sweep again if I turn it to off and then on again and (2) if I wiggle the sweep interval control switch up and down, it will sweep, but again only once. (c) Driving one hr to the dlr this am in a pretty good rain on I-94, I observed accidentally that I could get the wipers to sweep by touching the sensor anywhere on its surface (inside the car).Even the lightest touch with my fingers would suffice. Under warranty, they have replaced the sensor; it still doesn't work. Thursday am, I am bringing them the car to keep until they can solve the problem. Any ideas?
