I ended up with a sludge issue with my 2001 95 aero sedan. I had it towed to a local shop and it turns out the engine was shot. I got my hands on a used engine with just around 100K miles and brought it to him--he said he could install. He got as far as removing the bad motor when I thought better about that decision because he was moving so slow and towed it the car and motor about 35 miles away to a shop that works exclusively on Saabs. I had to bring the car back in because the turbo wasn't working correctly. The owner of the Saab repair shop said they missed one of the turbo connections and he fixed that and the car ran well. Then I started to notice a transmission fluid leak. When I brought it back to have it checked, the owner told me that when the weight of the engine was removed, the seal for the transmission loosened. At this point it would take pulling the engine and fixing that--a job that will cost another 900.00 at least. He doesn't feel responsible for this at all. I don't know what to think. I'll need to get this fixed--I have a hard time keeping the levels high enough. I thought I'd get any feedback from experts on how this should have been handled. Thanks.
