I believe there are two bolts securing the oil pan which are located INSIDE the transmisison case! I may be thinking of the wrong transmission though.
The old post shows where you gently fracture the tranny case to access the bolt heads. Effectively you are breaking away a layer of extra thick mold flash which completely blocks access to the bolts. Yes, this is the official factory repair method.
