CEL & random misfire. IDM heading south?

My wife's 9-5 SportWagon has been throwing a CEL for the past week. I'm away almost all month, so she took it to the local repair shop which has cleared the codes and says it comes up as "random misfire," but I don't know the actual code. It threw a CEL again yesterday which cleared after a few start cycles.
We're coming up on the end of CPO in June, so I'm taking it to the dealer when I'm home on Friday (the nearest is now nearly an hour away) but I'm guessing it's the DI cassette heading south. Be fine with me if it's the cassette as it'd give me a new one for free at 84K miles (I was thinking of buying a spare).
I looked at the plugs yesterday and they were OK, although the gap on one was a little wider than I like. Color varied a bit but all were the right kind of light tan/brown.
I know random misfire can be a number of things, not just the DI. Any other thoughts what I should make sure they check for?
