Paint fading is related more to technology than colour. like previous post mentioned, cars have basecoat (colour) and clearcoat (gloss) layers which improve UV degradation as bonded with primer. The only differences these days are (i) whether a paint is waterborne technology or solventborne technology; (ii) clearcoat is 1K or 2K.
(i) waterborne basecoat uses higher solids in the paint; more 'brilliant' colour. The flake lies in a uniform manner that allows for smoother clearcoat application over the basecoat. Fading no concern. Saab uses Waterborne basecoat.
(ii) 2K clearcoat is '2 components'- resina nd hardener. the hardener creates a harder, thighter bonded coating. excellent for gloss. used on most high end cars. believe Saab is 1K. 1K is 'regular' common clearcoat.
Hope this helps.
