switching coolant, complete drain

Is this procedure sufficient? Or do I need to do more to ensure the Dex-cool is gone so I don’t get compatibility issues between the types of coolant?
1) Drain the Dex-cool.
2) Fill with distilled water.
3) Run 10-15 minutes with heat on HI and until engine bay fan comes on.
4) Cool and drain.
5) Repeat the water procedure (steps 2-4).
6) Then fill with G05 – add a gallon G05, then distilled water. Run to temperature and then add any water if needed after it cools down. Check after a day or so to be certain no more water is needed and that there are no leaks.
Is it better to drain the car with the front higher than the rear or lower than the rear? My driveway has a slight slope.
Any tips on getting that green drain plug off and on since I will have to do this at least three times? I will remove the plastic guard under the engine bay. I think a socket can be used to loosen it or pliers or just the right shaped hands.
