I have a 2003 Aero automatic, and you have now had all the typical problems for a car that mileage......well heater control valve was a bit early. Usually fails closer to 60,000.
Around 60,000 check the serpentine belt, the tensioner and the 2 pulleys. These 3 have sealed lubricated bearings and should all be rplaced along with the belt around 60,000.
My 2001 Aero got to 110,000 before it got noisy, but you can do this as a DYI between 60 and 100,000.
If the belt or pulley fails you lose alternator, oil pump, water pump, A/C.....so you should just shut it down.
two pulleys are plastic and if the bearing goes and heats up they usually disintergrate.
