Immediately after I put new pads on the front, my brakes felt "Mushy".
I thought the master cylinder had failed.
But,the brakes got better after I "Bedded" them.
I believe that the problem was the Anti-Squeal Goop I applied. I applied it lavishly to eliminate the dreaded "Brake squeal" we hear about on this group.
This stuff is a thick glue which bonds the pad to the piston. This adds mass to the pad, and reduces the vibration of the pad, eliminating noise.
I think the mushy feeling was the brake cylinder pushing on the soft "Goop". After the Goop cures (Bakes!)the brakes firmed up, and felt normal.
This might be you situation too.
