Rear Decor Panel installation Posted by Larry West [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Just picked up a 1999 LPT in silver, and got a rear decor panel for it. The one thing missing from the package is the instructions! Got the panel, got the hardware, got the drilling template, and got 5 mysterious black circles made of rubber or foam or somehting with stickytape on the back.
So, I figure you take off the license pate cover & maybe the trunk lights, and possibly the trunk handle. Trim out the template, and locate it over the screw holes for hte license plate, then mark, and drill the holes. But what size holes should I drill? Template has about 8mm holes, fasteners are no more than 5mm... Prep the holes so they won't start the trunk lid rusting, then install the panel.
I need to know where the 5 rubber circles go (do they go around the new holes? are the just bumpers behind the panel?). Also, there are 4 metallic tape squares that apparently go onto the screws holding the panel on. But I can't tell which side!
Anyway, if anyone has the instructions, or has done this and knows, please let me know!
Thanks,
