Has anyone actually retrofitted ventilated seats? Posted by Saabpilot [Email] ![]() ![]() |
I've been seriously shopping for a 2000 - 2003 9-5 for about a month. Have looked at Gary Fisher wagons and a couple of Aero Wagons. I used to own a 2003 9-5 Aero sedan with ventilated seats. I really miss the seats.
None of the cars I'm finding in really good shape have ventilated seats. I'm aware that, at least originally Saab did not put the harnesses in the cars that were not equipped with ventilated seats.
Has anyone actually done this retrofit? How difficult is it? I am very skilled with basic electricty and electronics (figured out and installed several keyless entry systems in classic 900's for example).
I am ready to buy a car, but would like to know if adding these seats myself is conceivable. I know of a couple of sources for used ones.
