There is a threaded post that the modulator box attaches to using the special fitting that comes zip tied to the Saab modulator. It looks sturdy enough that I won’t need to use the sticky tape. However, that post is painted so it can’t be the ground point. Someone suggested using the extra tow eye bolt. I couldn’t get a good look at it without removing it, but it seems too large for the ground wire loop. Is there another unpainted screw/bolt I can’t find?
Page 12 of the linked file has the instructions from the OEM hitch that pertain to the harness. I may have no choice but to drill a hole as the instruction say to get a proper ground.
I also noticed the instructions speak of a rubber plug in place of that extra tow eye bolt. There is no PN so I doubt one can buy it separately.
