RELAX....
You just use a common household turkey baster to suck out the existing fluid in the reservoir...and then you replenish it.
Then you drive it for a day/up to ~100 miles and do second /third changes...
If you start the car with no fluid in the reservoir(which I would NOT recommend ANYBODY TO DO THIS), you introduce air into the p/s lines...
So, you have to bleed out the air...how much air, you ask?, is immaterial....
you top up the p/s fluid, raise both wheels off the ground, start the engine, and SLOWLY and GENTLY rotate the steering wheel all the way to the right limits, then SLOWLY and GENTLY rotate it all the way to the left limits, and (repeat) and then back to dead center to expel all air in the p/s system.
