Are all the OEM springs made by Lesjofors?

Lesjofors has a lowering kit that lowers the sedan 35mm and wagon 30mm (not sure how they do that without different springs…maybe they are different springs). The comment says not for Aero models (maybe Aeros already have these springs).

Also interesting, the load leveling suspension Aero springs are 390mm free length versus 363mm with the same Dy value (hard to say for sure what that is since these catalogs have no explanation-might be outer diameter) and larger wire diameter on the load leveling. My Aero wagon springs measure close to the 363mm mark. Is this the mysterious ~30mm height missing from the Aeros?

I also notice up front the Aero springs are 45mm less free length than non-Aeros. In the rear, wagons use 23mm taller springs than sedans. Aero wagons use rear springs 47mm shorter than non-Aero wagons. The wire diameter varies of course which affects stiffness and thus actual height of the spring and car under load. Aero wagons seem the most odd because they use the same wire diameter (1mm less Dy) as the non-Aero sedan, but the spring is 24mm shorter. The catalog has no values for the Aero sedan rear.

There are heavy duty rear springs for the non-Aeros which are shorter with a thicker wire diameter. I don’t understand why Saab doesn’t offer the heavy duty standard as clearly the 9-5 can use more support. Maybe the HD springs are too beefy for the Boge/Saab dampers and Saab didn’t want to spend money on better dampers.

With a non-Aero one can use the diesel variant front springs which are thicker and little shorter than the non-Aero ones, but might offer standard ride height. These might even be a good option on the Aero if one doesn’t want lowering springs. I doubt one can get much feedback on the diesel suspension in the US.

Too bad we can’t readily get the specs on the OEM part numbers.

It is odd that none of the performance outlets offer any of the Lesjofors springs for the 9-5.
