If Matt can find a well-maintained 9-5 with full service records from a private owner then a used 9-5 is pretty reasonable. But that can be tough to find. It's not that the cars are unreliable, it's that they can be maintenance intensive and you have to keep on top of them. We have a'03 9-5 Linear wagon that's been great through 87K miles now. But we knew it's short & sweet history when we got it at 40K miles.
We bought all of our 4 Saabs used, but we had histories on all and I'm kinda compulsive about maintenance. And I DIY about 75% of all work. They are very reliable. But you kinda have to commit to these cars. Toyotas they ain't.
