What's with I-495? Two weeks ago I was travellig in the left hand lane during rush hour traffic in Westborough. It's Massachusetts so that didn't stop everyone from still going 70 MPH. Something happened in the right hand lane which forced everyone to suddenly turn to the left, including the car just to my right. Fortunately there was no guardrail so the result of my instinct to survive, and not crash my 2001 95 was about 150 yards of off roading in the very bumpy grass median at highway speed. I hit a recessed drainage grate as I left the road which totally trashed a wheel. Car fishtailed a bit but despite the blown tire and now oval rim I was able to keep it from getting sideways, which I can pretty much guarantee would have rolled the car. Car got my vote of confidence for control during a panic maneuver.
By the way - thanks to whoever it was that suggested East Coast Auto Salvage for a replacement wheel. Got nice wheel at a good price.
