Sweet model and year..... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Thu, 3 Sep 2009 17:08:26 In Reply to: 02' 9-5 arc, Opinions? Suggestions?, Bree, Wed, 2 Sep 2009 21:02:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The 02-03 Arcs are one sweet Saab. The V6 is a much smoother engine than the four, the 2002 was the first year for the 5 speed (vs 4 speed) automatic and many other minor improvements, and the Arcs had the premium package and the vented seats standard.
V6's in the NG900's and 9000's did have really spotty reliability records so that's where the rumor comes from, but he V6 for the 9-5 was completely redone and resourced to Saab specs and has been completely bullet proof.
There is a timing belt and pulley replacement for V6's strongly recommended at 60k and even paid for by Saab if you do it in the 58-62k mileage window so if it has been done it will appear in the factory warranty service history that your local Saab dealer might share with you.
