What you want to do in order to properly bed in the brakes is to get them very very hot.
Drive around with moderate braking for 10-15 minutes to get the brakes to "normal" hot operating temp.
Do brake very very hard from ~60mph down to 10mph (DON'T STOP completely), quickly accelerate back to 60mph. Repeat 10 times in very quick succession (don't let the brakes cool off between cycles). You should start getting brake fade at around 6-7 cycle.
After 10 cycles, drive the car (remember, no stopping) on highway or other road with no stops for 10-15 minutes to allow brakes to cool off without stopping (otherwise they might warp). That's it, you bedded in your brakes.
From my reading what this procedure does is it relaxes and kind of internal stresses that might be present in the cast rotors as well as properly beds in the pads, depositing ("burning in") some of the pad material onto the surface of the rotor. This provides for excellent braking performance, long life of the rotors, and reduces chance of warping in the future. I did that when I did my all 4 corners last year (Brembo slotted from GS and Akebono pads) and 15 months later they still look pretty much brand new :D (aside for some hub rust, but that's a different story).
