Re: Front Pads for '01 Aero-OEM Saab=Akibono? Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Front Pads for '01 Aero-OEM Saab=Akibono?, Brooks G, Wed, 16 Sep 2009 09:35:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Just had a 04 9-5 here this week where I replaced the stock pads with Akebono at 6K miles. It now has 65K miles and have about 80% left on front and rear pads. Some wear is noticed on the rotors but not nearly what stock pads create after 20K miles.
Also, I don't remember but I think the customer supplied the Akebono ProAct pads at the time because I don't think the Euro line was available back in 04.
I see almost no wear on pads and rotors on the cars I have installed Saab Akebono pads through the later years.
Only a few customers have mentioned a slightly harder pedal feel and no one have complained about noise which is the biggest complain factor using harder pads of lesser quality.
So, Akebono is certainly not a cheap pad but seems to deliver high quality, long life, no dust and no noise.
And yes, it is a better quality "feel and look" to the Saab Akebono pad compared to the Euro Akebono.
