I managed to replace the xenons and did not disconnect the battery and lived to tell the tale. Extremely easy job for the DIYer. The only trick is to maneuver the new bulb back into the socket without touching it to anything else like greasy wires or your hand. Also making sure the bulb is seated properly (deeply enough) in the socket before securing the wire locking mechanism. Opcheck good.
