Why? Your first post indicates that you need to get to the head gasket. What Anders said, is that the chain does NOT have to be removed to change the head gasket.
If you have other problems, mentioning them might help you get a more complete answer.
Otherwise, there are two ways to replace the timing chain: 1) the Saab roll-in method, whereby you break the chain, and very, very carefully roll in a new chain, and secure that one together with a master link, or 2) the "standard" Saab method, whereby you remove nearly everything on the front (timing chain side) of the motor, remove the main crank pulley, and ultimately, the timing chain.
