Best Way to Flush Radiator Free From Dex-Cool?

I have searched and searched but cannot find an answer . . . I know it must exist, but can't find it.
I have a 2001 9.5 SE V6. Took my Saab in last spring to a dealership to have the camshaft drive belt (under warranty) and water pump replaced. In doing so they replaced my radiator fluid with Dex-Cool. (As an aside story, when I later realized and called to ask why Dex-Cool, the manager said 2001's don't get Dex-Cool . . . but when I described the coolant's color he realized that that was in fact what was used and claimed it was better. My concern is that I doubt they did a flush and almost certainly simply refilled and that is not good when dealing with Dexcool).
I want to replace this Dex-Cool fluid with Amsoil coolant (I have been using their engine oil, brake fluid, powersteering and ATF fluid for years . . . have heard equally great things about their coolant).
What is the best way to make this change as I know Dexcool is a problem to get out of the system? Should I go someplace that has a radiator flushing machine? I don't feel comfortable using a garden hose bkz of the minerals et. al. in water . . .
One other side question . . . every 3-5,000 miles the check coolant light comes on and I need to add maybe 8 ounces or so of fluid/distilled water. I cannot find a leak anywhere . . . engine oil is clean, no drips evident. Any thoughts or recommendations?
Thank you very much!
