I did the relay jumper wire mod on my '03 9-5 AERO about 18 months ago. I wanted the ability to have the DRL off when I wanted and needed greater output from the high beams. I have been very satisfied with the modification, very simple, quick and cheap. The real result is the brights are now super bright, and to me give me the lighting my failing eyes need. Obviously I do not use them when oncomming traffic is present but on these dark southern side roads they are invaluable. Since the conversion I have not replaced any bulbs, and I frequently drive at night, probably more than most. Interior lights are not effected in any way. My vote is to try it, if you don't like it, it takes 2 minutes to put the relay back in. I used the three wire leads with push on connectors and an integral fuse link.
Good luck!
Steve
