The lens is not designed to be removed. I suppose that you could use a fine cutting tool (Dremel) to open it up and effect a repair. The risk is that you'll be unsuccessful, which puts you where you are right now.
There are two other choices:
1) Contact goldwingsaab.com to see if they have a used one. This could save you a lot of money. The bad news is that most wrecked cars are totaled in the front.
2) Spring for a new replacement. eEuroparts lists them for $711.00. For this amount of money I would try eEuroparts and a few Saab dealers to see whether you can negotiate a better price. One example would be reinertsenmotors.com in NJ, an old Saab-only dealer. Be sure to tell them that you're a Saab Club member.
