Oil in intake and bypass pipes. is that normal?

I disconnected my air intake pipe at throttle body and the bypass pipe at MAF end today. Both were dripping oil merrily. Is that normal? There is no smoke and turbo works well, albeit a bit slow to pick up. OIl also regularly drips out of the vacuum connector on the intake pipe which is unused in my car (auto) but used on manual cars I think.
There just seems to be a lot of oil around. i think it could be coming from the turbo, or from the PCV pipe which connects after the MAF. In fact there is steady minor leak of oil from the junction of the air inlet pipe to the throttle body. The oil drips down, on to the coolant and vacuum hoses and on downward, finally dripping off the underside of the intake manifold.
I also noticed there is no intake manifold bracing bar on this car; should it be there?
Thanks for any help.
chris
