I'm not concerned. The reason? I own 2 c900s... it is still no problem to keep them on the road even though the last one rolled off the line 15 years ago! In fact, parts are pretty cheap if you're smart about it, much cheaper than for a 9-5!
In contrast, 9-5 just finished production, new parts will be available for 10 years + then until stockpiles run out (vs 9-3 hatch which is now 8 years past last run). According to our dealer (which btw is for all intents + purposes gone), parts will be available through any GM dealer - certain ones will stock (eg I assume Gravel in Montreal) + lesser ones can order.
I actually don't think the picture looks much worse whether or not Saab stays in business, or even vs if it was still owned by GM: under GM, c900 parts started to vanish 10+ years out of production anyway... what matters is how long the car has been out of production...
besides, what would you have done with the 2004 9-5 you were driving? would you have sold it and changed brands? you'll find people here will figure out how to keep the cars on the road... but yes, there is some risk. that's partly why they are cheap used!
James...
