My 03 Aero has 121K on the odo. It is well maintained, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, flushed ATF fluid, cleaned TB, replaced engine mounts, 0W40 Mobil 1, plugs look good, new air filter, wheels aligned recently, tracks straight. Over the last few months I noticed that my MPG is not what it used to be. I should be getting +5MPG across the board.

The only issues I have right now are:

1- as of few days ago the temp gauge either hovers or fails to register. This is intermittent and does not throw codes. This is both concerning, because its more $$$ and strange given that I had the thermostat replaced 40K ago and the temperature sensor 10K ago.

2- Engine sounds kind of harsh under load, a metallic type sound almost like a rattle or a bearing...

3- Sometimes idle feels lumpy during low speed maneuvers. Bouncy tach.

4- Slight loss of power..... before the power would build up even at the lower end, now it's rather dead until the AT downshifts, engine is now loud as hell with a subtle metallic undertone and it explodes forward like a bat out of hell.

I have instructed my mechanic not replace a few hoses as preventative maintenance last year, rather opting to ride it out...

I know this is rather vague but anyone have any idea what could be going on? 15/22-24 is bumming me out.

My highway MPG is okay if I clear the SID while coasting and all is well until I involve the gas/brake pedal in any way...at which point my MPG drops through the basement floor.
