Take the trip to Autozone! I'm in the electronics/electrical business and
sell various chemicals along with my other products. Chemical formulations are design specific to intended use. For example brake cleaner is a grease remover on metal, potential damage to plastic components could be problematic, if not initially but over time. I'm no expert, but I have seen damage from incorrect application of chemicals that are not intended to be multiuse varieties. Just my .02
