The 4-cylinder that's in the 9-5 (and traces its lineage back to the 70's Saab 99) is a Saab engine through and through. Cast, machined and assembled in Sweden
The V6 that was offered from 1999 through 2003 started as an Opel 3.0 liter block, but Saab did quite a lot to it, including Direct Ignition, and the turbo. Not sure how much was done at Opel, and how much at Saab on that one.
