Now that my 2001 AERO has all the performance godies
as they will be fitted on the 2003 SAAB Performance
AERO which will make it to the US, let me give you
a quick overview on why it will be worth a few extra $.

Interior:
The Hirsch Nappa or Nappa/Nubuk interior is just great.
The seats are still better then the 2002 AERO seats
and the leather is the type you will also find on
expensive Italian furniture, first class.

Engine:
The latest 280HP upgrade which keeps the stock exhaust
and ads a sportsfilter, larger turbo intake pipe and
gets a big intercooler and a new ECU is just fantastic.
The power comes smooth as low as 1500 RPM and then the
engine pulls all the way up to 5900 RPM. And the pull
is strong, plenty of steam to ridicule any 430 Lexus
or 540 or 740 BMW. The 4.2L AUDI's also can't compete
on this level and you can easy play with Merc. 500S cars.
In fact above 40Mph the performance is close to an WRX STi.
0-124 MPH in 23.5 Seconds... 4th gear 37Mph to 62Mph in 5.2 Seconds!
The car pulls like few others do! The best is that
milage is just about the same then what you would
get with a regular AERO.

The Chassis upgrade: (Eibach springs and Sachs shocks)
The Hirsch Performance chassis upgrade does away with something
we all never were quite happy with... torque steer! Even
with 280HP the AERO has hardly any torque steer!
It's just amazing! Traction is far better and the
car has excellent balance with this setup. Neutral to very
light understeer with no surprises when you lift the foot.
The rear just tracks and is always stable, something the
older 99-01 AEROs always had a little trouble with.
And when you play, you can if you try hard enough swing
that rear around like before, but only when you try real hard.
2003 Performance AERO's will come with ESP which will make this car
a real easy drive!

I have driven current LS430s, recent E430s (no longer with new E class)
and also a buch of other so called Premium cars, but none
of them has the overtaking power and top speed this AERO has.
You do need a S6 or S4 or RS4 or RS6 or AMG Merc. or M5 to
better this, but then you will spend twice the money!

US FUN STARTS during spring 2003 :)

Regards,
Coolknight
