I had a 4-wheel alignment this morning at the local Dealer following my D-I-Y ball-joint replacement last weekend. Luckily a "10% off" coupon arrived in the mail this week for all Dealer service items! The $80 spent should save me more than that by avoiding excessive tire wear.

Following the ball-joint replacement I had to keep the stering wheel pointed to the 1 o'clock position to travel straight in my lane. What is strange is the computerized check found both front wheels had nearly equal excessive negative toe-in (-.23 degrees and -.21 degrees, whereas spec is +.10 degrees to +.18 degrees). I would have expected only one side to be out of whack.

I did have slightly excessive toe-in on the left rear side (+.38 degrees versus the range of +.11 degrees to +.31 degrees). While the right rear side was at mid-range of the specs. Maybe this was the cause of my displaced steering?

More amazing was that after nearly 262,00 miles, and two rear shock replacements (without rear alignment checks, I think) the rear camber was still within specs for both sides! Obviously not an Aero.
