This is my still kinda-sorta-new-to-me-just bought it in July 2003 9-5 Aero Wagon. I've owned a 2003 9-5 Aero sedan before and also currently have a 2008 9-3 Aero sedan, but this is my first wagon. (Other than the classic 900 3-doors in which I retofitted my own remote lock systems and they worked flawlessly.)

When I unlock the rear lift gate with the button on the driver's door or with the keyless remote, if I don't open that lift gate within X number of seconds (maybe 20 seconds) it will relock itself. I find this tremendously annoying.

Is that the way the 9-5 wagon came programmed from the factory, or has someone had some fun with my car using a Tech II? Can I get that auto relocking function completely unprogrammed, or set to a ridiculously high value like 200 minutes?

I need to get this reprogrammed if possible because it is driving me nuts, as is the fact that when I shut off the engine and remove the key, all of the locks should unlock. I know that feature is programmable because I had my 9-5 sedan programmed that way.

Seperate question: does anyone know why Saab keyless remotes are the worst on the planet? With both 9-5's I've owned you have to be about 5 feet from the car, no farther, for the remote to work and on my 2008 9-3 there are many, many times where you have to press the unlock button literally 10 or more times to get it to work. No, it is not my batteries. They are fine.
